Sam Vermeiren graduated in 2022 from the Ghent University as bio-science engineer, specialising in food science and nutrition. The following year, he also obtained a Master of Teaching in biology and chemistry from the University of Antwerp. Subsequently, he completed a traineeship at the European Food Safety Authority, working on risk assessment of food additives. He started as a scientist at Sciensano at the end of 2024 in the service Health Information.
