Dr. Laura Van den Borre PhD

Laura Van den Borre is a senior scientist at the Service Health Information at Sciensano. Her research focuses on investigating and addressing social health inequalities in Belgium, particularly those linked to gender, education, income and area deprivation. Laura earned her PhD in Sociology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2018, where she studied occupational mortality risks in Belgium. She has extensive experience working with population-based health data linkages, including census-linked mortality data and medico-administrative health data sources. Laura is also a voluntary research fellow at the Brussels Institute for Social and Population Studies (BRISPO) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
