Description
Introduction of Next-Generation-Sequencing technology in (Hemato-)Oncology in the Belgian Health Care System
The use of Next generation sequencing technology in routine analyses conducted within our healthcare system represents an important step forward. In Belgium, the introduction of this technology in (hemato-)oncology is being developed in a 5-year national pilot project coordinated by the PSI Cancer Center, a project launched in January 2016.
Following the success of last year’s symposium, this year the Scientific Institute of Public Health is organizing the 2nd edition of the symposium “Introduction of Next-Generation-Sequencing technology in (hemato-)oncology in the Belgian healthcare system”. This is an opportunity to take stock of the project and the first achievements on the one hand, and to present some international initiatives with which collaboration is possible to optimize the treatment of cancer patients in Belgium.
