Transmissions from latent Ebola virus infections are rare. However, new findings highlight the importance of close surveillance once countries are declared Ebola-free.
Says a new study published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases. In a comment on this study, published in the same journal, Dr Lorenzo Subissi (Sciensano) discusses the challenges for survivors and survivor follow-up programmes.
